A Teacher's Responsibility To Their Student

When someone agrees to be a teacher, they are entering into a sacred contract with their student.

They are agreeing to share their knowledge and life experiences with them.  To guide them as they travel their path.

A teacher/student relationship should be based on mutual respect, and a similar spiritual path.  This relationship is time consuming and grows as time goes on.  There is a thin line between guiding them and allowing a co-dependent relationship to grow.  A teacher must be aware of the needs of their student at all times.

In my opinion, there should never be a sexual relationship between teacher and student.  A teacher must be professional in their dealings with their students.

Magickal Tools - Are They Necessary

Magickal Tools, are they necessary.  I believe they are wonderful, magickal and help us to transition from the mundane world to the world of the Spiritual.  I have many tools.  Some that where given to me, some that called to me, some that were necessary and some I don't know where they came from.  Each one is loved and honored, each one has a special place.

However, do I believe they are necessary.  No.  I believe that the God and Goddess gave us all we need to have within ourselves.  I think back to the ancestors, the witches that came before us.  Most were poor and would not have had special tools to do their magickal workings.

We have, in my opinion, all the items we need. We have our heart - for intent, our mind - for knowledge, our hand - for a chalice/cup/cauldron and our finger - for a athame/sword/wand.

I have heard so many witches/pagans/wiccans say - I would practice or do a ritual IF I had the right tools.  Don't wait any longer.  Practice.  Do.  Feel the Magick.

What Type of Pagan Are You?

I believe there are 4 types of pagans (or a mixture of the 4)...

Shock Pagan - someone who says they are a pagan/witch/etc in an attempt to get a reaction from others (mostly looking for a negative reaction)

Seasonal Pagan - someone who says they are a pagan/witch/etc; but, only practices during Sabbaths or "when they want to"

Party Pagan - someone who says they are a pagan/witch/ect but just go to events for the partying and/or sexual overtures

Spiritual Pagan - someone who is a practicing solitary or as a member of a group/coven for the Spirituality

Can you think of any other types?  What type or mixture are you?  What type would you like to be?  What are YOUR definitions of the above?  Please, post your thoughts, comments and questions...

Introduction

I've been on my path (elemental eclectic witch) for 40+ years.  As a elemental witch I work with the Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. I follow an eclectic path.

I was started on my path by my grandmother, Big Mama.  She was part Cheyenne and taught me to walk with nature.  She, also, taught me how to read tarot cards, using a regular deck of playing cards.  So basically, all my life I have been surrounded by magick and the elements.

Finding the path that was right for me took many years and twists and turns.  I still learn new things daily and I am enjoying this adventure called Life.

I have been blessed with many teachers on this path and many wonderful brothers and sisters in the Craft to walk it with me.

Lessons have come in many forms:  heart-wrenching to awe inspiring to the soft, gentle ones that effect us in many ways.

My family has been very supportive of my Spiritual path.  I have been married to my husband, Kevin, for 34 years.  He is a Christian.  He says my Spiritual path is harder to walk than his.  He is present and helps with most rituals.  He helps set-up and tends the fire.

I have 4 children and 18 grandchildren.  This is not counting my "adopted" children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

So, please join me on this journey of enlightenment.  Together we will explore paganism, spiritual paths, magick, rituals and much more.  We will work together on crafts, sabbaths, esbats, answer questions and whatever you want to do.  Just ask.  Email your thoughts, opinions and questions to:  candya@mchsi.com  Check us out on our website:  www.darkmooncovenofmn.webs.com  and on Witchvox.
